From the idyllic surrounds of Patrick Payne’s Plumpton complex, Patrick and his team of dedicated staff, concentrate on giving each horse under their care every chance to succeed on the racetrack

Ideas borne out of a lifelong involvement with racing and innate knowledge of horses led Payne to design and build his own training complex when rising weight cut short his illustrious riding career.

Payne has implemented everything a horse could need on one spacious property with multiple training tracks, on grass and dirt, as well as a steep hill course to build stamina in the stayers while the stable is based 30 minutes from Flemington and within an hour of most of Victoria’s best racetracks.

Patrick leaves nothing to chance, giving horses a variety of training options while remaining on the lookout to add talent to his stable via the many yearlings or ready-to-run sales around Australia or by seeking out the right tried horses for the team.

Patrick Payne Racing gets the best out of every horse that passes through the gates of the stable through outstanding training and perfect race placement, which means premium returns to owners and the thrill of winning on the racetrack.
